Each farm has distinctive features and needs that cannot be fully addressed by traditional models.
Our purpose is to drive digitalisation and sensor interoperability in farms to pave the way to for the microbiome as a unique source of information to drive tailored recommendations.
Imagine an orchestra where every instrument works together to produce a beautiful melody.
The gut microbiome is a microscopic orchestra made of bacteria, fungi and viruses closely connected to immune system of humans and animals.
A healthy microbiome means a healthy individual.
Farmelody is an all-in-one farm management web platform.
We aggregate pre-existing sensor data on large-scale industrial farms and correlate them with the output of the microbiome analysis.
Based on this information, Farmelody provides tailored recommendations concerning the nutrition and the management of livestock.
Farmelody was born out of the 2021 edition of Innovation 4 Change: a 5-month programme focused on impact innovation.
DSM was our industrial partner and we were tasked with designing a business model for the microbiome.
We ultimately want to use microbiome data to create a data-driven recommendation service that harnesses the insights of the microbiome dataset alongside the growing digitalisation taking place in the large-scale industrial farm sector.

First version of the farming data aggregator prototype.
Start collecting animal microbiome data on field.
Complete validation with large-scale agricultural producer.
Integrate microbiome data into second version of the prototype.
Farmelody took part in the Cultures in Conversation "Food, Agriculture & Livelihoods" event held at the Expo 2020 Australia Pavilion. We delivered a presentation in front of a live audience about the role of the microbiome in livestock farming. The event was organized by Alserkal and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
Global Grad Show, an initiative by the Art Dubai Group, is a programme for graduates in universities across the world whose research and ideas offer solutions to help solve major social and environmental issues.
